Soffit & Fascia Installation, Repair & Replacement

Your gutters are only as strong as the wood they hang on. Gutterify offers professional soffit and fascia repair and replacement to ensure your entire roofline remains structurally sound and visually appealing.

Rotted or damaged fascia boards can cause gutters to pull away and sag, rendering them useless. We replace compromised wood with durable, rot-resistant materials and properly secure your gutters to the new surface. While we’re up there, we also inspect your soffits for pest entry points and ventilation issues, keeping your attic dry and your home protected.

Questions you might have

What is the difference between soffit and fascia?

This is a common question, and understanding the difference helps you know what needs repair. The fascia is the long, straight board that runs horizontally along the lower edge of your roofline. This is what your gutters are directly attached to. The soffit is the underside of your roof's overhang, located behind the fascia and running back toward your house. Soffits often have small holes or vents to allow air circulation into your attic, which is critical for preventing moisture buildup and ice dams.

How do I know if my fascia board needs to be replaced?

There are several clear signs that your fascia is failing. Visually, you may notice peeling paint, visible rot, or dark streaks running down the boards. Functionally, if your gutters are pulling away from the house or sagging in sections, it often means the fascia board behind them is too soft to hold the fasteners securely. You can also gently poke the board with a screwdriver—if it sinks in easily or feels spongy, the wood is rotting and needs replacement before new gutters can be safely installed.

Can you replace soffit and fascia without replacing my gutters?

In many cases, yes, but it depends on the condition of your gutters and how they were originally installed. If your existing gutters are in good shape, we can carefully remove them, replace the rotted fascia boards with new rot-resistant materials, and then reattach your gutters securely. However, if your gutters are old or were damaged during removal, or if the drip edge needs replacement, we may recommend installing new gutters to ensure everything is properly integrated and leak-free.

Why is my soffit staining or peeling paint?

Staining or peeling paint on your soffit is usually a sign of poor ventilation or trapped moisture. Soffits are designed to breathe, allowing air to flow into your attic. If the vents are clogged with dust, insulation, or pest nests, moisture gets trapped and causes the paint to fail. In some cases, it can also indicate that warm, humid air from inside your home is escaping into the attic and condensing on the underside of the roof. Replacing damaged soffit and ensuring proper airflow can resolve these issues and protect your roof's structure.
